Dear hiring manager,

Hey, there you are! This website is to express my interest in discussing a position with your company. I believe that my experience and education will make me a competitive candidate.

Here are just a few reasons why I think I’d be a great asset to your organization:
• 7 years of professional experience in business development, communications and marketing as well as leadership & visual design
• Ability to develop and implement effective and innovative communications collateral for print, multi-media and web as well as news media and other relevant audiences
• Social Media savvy including Twitter, Facebook, blogs, etc. Understand the importance of community outreach and community engagement
• Proficient with WordPress CMS as well as SEO, SEM, SMM, and SMO
• Proven track record of developing, planning and executing events with great success
• Detail oriented but can still see the bigger picture

You will find me to be well-spoken, energetic, confident, and personable. I also have a wide variety of experience that will give me the versatility needed to do well. Be sure to see my resume for additional information on said experience.

I’m currently the Communications Director for Inside|Out Global (IOG), a non-profit group that teaches filmmaking to under served youth. Other duties include:
• Executive Producer for Inside|Out Denver in July 2011.
• Set and guide the strategy for all communications, website, and public relations messages and collateral to consistently articulate Inside|Out Global’s mission.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual communications plan across the network’s discreet audiences in collaboration with the Inside|Out Global team and Board of Directors
• Lead the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action including, but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, Vimeo and the IOG website
• Put communications vehicles in place to create momentum and awareness as well as to test the effectiveness of communications activities
• Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, and IOG’s website.
• Work closely with a senior peer group within the organization as the communications partner on a variety of strategic initiatives.

Previously, I was independently contracted with The Park at 14th ($10 Million in revenue each year) in downtown Washinton DC as their events Project Manager. I also founded Gradient Overlay, LLC, a Branding, Advertising & Design group in Nashville, TN to assist nonprofit and faith-based organizations – having a 63% increase in business revenue and securing our first international client in its second year; served as Marketing Chairman for two nonprofit organizations in Franklin, TN; worked as a graphic designer for Birdsong Creative in Franklin, TN; and was employed by The People’s Church to help plan and coordinate services and events for 5,000+ members every weekend.

I hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Mass Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University with an emphasis in Advertising Art Direction. I’m a social media fanatic, typography savant, and a Myers-Brigg’s ENFP. It’s my dream to be part of something bigger than myself and influence culture for the greater good.

I hope that you’ll find my qualifications and interests intriguing enough to have a face-to-face meeting. I am confident that I could provide value to your company.

I can be reached anytime via my cell phone, 615-714-1854. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to speaking with you about an employment opportunity.
